APW - E Howard & Co, Boston, Series IV, N-S (just over 19S), box hinge 14K original HC with gold cuvette, case marked with Jeannot & Shiebler maker monogram inside the cuvette and with "BA&Co" marking inside rear lid likely for the original retailer, monogram initials on case front, SW-SS, WE-SSD with distinct Josiah Moorhouse characteristics but back not checked for signature, lever escapement, 15J, NI damascene, s#47698. Gross weight of assembled watch 89.2 dwt (138.7 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Ticking sluggishly on full wind with some balance error in flat, mainspring seemed to slip slightly at times when winding, fine plus mvt condition overall, plates with some mild darkened toning, typical MFS; dial with two light blue hls between 3 and 4, small hls tight along upper left rim over seconds-register; excellent hands; case shows medium wear, typical MFS, mild dings on band and rear, engraving detail largely reduced, case front opening a bit wide of 90 degrees; tight bow, replacement crown shows very little wear; clean plastic crystal.
